Seasonal influence on centesimal composition and yield of Amazonian fish

The objective of this study was to evaluate meat yield and centesimal composition the Amazonian fish species, A. ocellatus, P. castelnaeana, L. friderici, in dry flood seasonal cycles rivers. In each cycle (flood dry), a total 60 were collected, comprising 20 specimens following species: friderici. Were evaluated yield, cuts samples. Meat clean body skinless filet varied between species hydrological period. results showed that variation influenced studied, with significant differences produced during processing. These findings highlight need apply variety technological processes ensure efficient use these throughout year. waste represented more than 50% whole fish, head size directly proportional amount generated. underscore importance utilization for animal and/or human nutrition.
